Steam drying chamber PK

PK chamber scalder is used for wood steaming, in particular beech in form of sawn timber or structural components. The wood steaming process consists in heating a wet material with saturated steam and keeping it heated over a specified time. The purpose of steaming is to reduce internal stress within the wood, sterilize it, soften, adjust its colour, etc.

A free-standing frame structure is made of aluminium profiles and clad with insulation panels with the thickness of 100 mm, made of mineral wool and aluminium plates. The panels are sealed with a special silicone paste, resistant to high temperature and humidity inside the chamber.

PW type thermal timber processing steam drying chamber

The PW high temperature wood scalder is used for thermal modification of wood using steam at the temperature of 200ºC in order to improve certain physical and chemical properties of timber and to remove discolouring of sawn wood and structural components made of softwood and hardwood. Thermal modification is applied for wood with the absolute humidity of approx. 8%.

A free-standing frame structure is made of aluminium profiles and clad with insulation panels with the thickness of 150 mm, made of mineral wool and aluminium plates. The sealing between the panels and the structure are same as in the PK scalder.
